Frederick William Spacke founded The F. W. Spacke Machine Company in 1904 and began with air compressors production, then added automobile- and motor machine parts. In 1911 series of De Luxe motorcycle engines appeared. These motors have been used by few motorcycle makers: De Luxe (the marque was not connected with De Luxe of F. W. Spacke), Crawford, Dayton, Eagle, Minneapolis and Sears. These motors came through 1911-1921 with minor changes. Since 1912 Spacke offered transmissions for cyclecars. Fred W. Spacke died in 1915, and soon the company received slightly changed name. I don't know any mention of De Luxe motors produced in 1916-1918, looks like no production at all as all the motorcycles using De Luxe motors, didn't survive after 1915. The Spacke Machine and Tool Co. produced not only motors but automobile axles and other parts for automobiles, tractors and aeroplanes. In 1919-1920 they built own cyclecar Spacke Light Car. In 1920 the firm met financial problems and the car changed name to Brook. Production ceased in 1921. These cars also have been sold by the Peters Motor Corp., Philadelphia, as Peters Light Car in 1921-1922.
