2 Black and white photos are from family album of Taras Krusser (Chelyabinsk,
Russia). Photos have been taken in 1945. One photo - near Oder river. From the left: A. Plotitsyn (from Chita, fallen), V. Kovalyov
(Stalingrad), Fyodor Yakovlevich Timonin (military chaffeur from Magnitigorsk, Chelyabinsk region, in WW2 since 1943
Stalingrad, grandfather of Taras).
Thanks for help to Jim Bracewell (Glen Ellyn, Chicago Illinois area, USA), member and webmaster of The Nash Car Club of America (NCCA). Jim told more about 1938 models: "The 1938 Ambassador Eight have had the dual ignition. One other option that was only available on the 1938 Nash Ambassador Eight was the automatic shifter. It was the vacuum operated system controlled by a small lever protruding from the dashboard. If this option was not ordered, the car came with the standard transmission with the shifter mounted on the floor, like in the 37 and all previous years. In 1939 the company moved the manual shifter to the steering column."
One photo is from eBay.
